So, like, what if Clark Kent had siblings?
I’m not particularly well read into the comics, though I assume there’s usually an explanation for why John and Martha don’t have kids of their own (infertility for example) but I was wondering about it today and it got me thinking: what if Clark DID have siblings? How would it change his backstory? His outlook on life? The tone of his story? Would it be an interesting and fresh take on the character—showing more familial love in his past, as well as shining a light on the phenomenon of having siblings yet still feeling alone and disconnected from them for reasons you can’t control—or would it be too much of a departure from the original story and ruin something about it? To me, it’s always been kinda funny the sheer amount of only children there are among the DC superheroes, and given the fact that this is a Kansas farm family we’re talking about, I thought “there’s no better place for a larger family.” Plus, the idea of Clark having brothers and them goofing around with his powers and almost destroying stuff and getting themselves into trouble (while also trying to keep those powers a secret), sounds like a hilarious and fun time. What do you all think? A potentially good idea, or an unnecessary idea?
