Is there any way to get some damn health?

I am on my 100th try to beat this lord of the doors fucker. Is there no way to get any health at all? What kind of boss battle has NO HEALTH BONUSES AT ALL?!?! You have to defeat I don't know how many levels, who designed this garbage?

What a total disappointment to what started out as a decent, inventive and interesting game.
