America has gone soft
I think America, that once was the beacon of hope for the world, the symbol of strength, has gone soft. Due to an era of extreme abundance, we have lost our concept of gratitude, true strength, and take for granted what was not a given even 100 years ago. This abundance has prevented our growth as a nation which comes from life struggles and having the courage to overcome challenges.
We can easily see this softness in our “leaders” and their timid approach to solving problems. Sternly worded letter, ineffective sanctions, and “just going along” with what ever the loudest person says so they don’t rock the boat and lose their position of comfort and luxury. And it’s not just our leaders, but the American people are so sensitive for the smallest of things. They can’t take advice or criticism in any form, and feel hurt from someone calling them a simple name. No one can hurt me from words unless I ALLOW it to, period. Sticks and stones… We have become a nation of emotionally immature children with an inability to effectively fix our own problems, and that doesn't bode well for the future of our country.
