New(ish) itchy… mole?

I first noticed it on my inner thigh last August, it was itchy and red so I assumed it was a bug bite. It itches for several weeks but then slowly stopped. I came to the conclusion that it was a mole as it got a little bigger, raised, and more textured like a mole would be. From then on it periodically itches and then randomly stops. Has anyone had something similar and it ended up not being a concern or not even not a mole at all?? I have a newborn and toddler so going to the doctor for myself is quite an event for me.
