Looking for the right 7.3 year

I’m looking for an F250/350, 7.3L that doesn’t use any chips that affect the drive ability if they fail. What year model should I be looking for? I just talked to a mechanic and he said 94’ but Google tells me something different. I appreciate any and all the help.
