How many of you make quicksaves so you can retry checks?

Wondering what people's opinion on this is. I'll be open and honest - I've saved my game right before I've done a check just to make sure it's successful, and so I don't have to put points into whatever skill I need to. Or, sometimes it's just easier, and can make me avoid going through a whole different path just to complete one check.

I'm wondering how many other people do this method of playing, and whether you think it ruins the disco experience. I'm just about 15 hours into it now, so I'm guessing halfway through. I do really enjoy the game, I just don't know if I'm playing it 'correctly' or not.
