What are generally your thoughts on a campaign with no magic?
I've been running a campaign for a couple of years now, and my players and I seems to have been having a lot of fun with it. However the most notable homebrew change I made when running it is that there are no spells or magic classes. I know that this is really uncommon and while it seems to have worked out well enough for my group (with some rebalancing of other classes a little), I'm curious to hear what others might think about this approach to playing D&D.
Sincerely, Edward
Edit: I was really unprepared for how much conversation this sparked, not that I’m complaining. For some clarification, magic does still exist in the world of my campaign, but it is more items and monsters. I wanted magic to feel more specialized but also natural, so it’s mostly spells that don’t exist. And at this point my game has become heavily home brewed after years of me and my players tinkering with what we liked. I’ll try my best to respond to the comments, but there are a lot of them, so please forgive me if I’m not able to get to all of them.
