Predictions for March and Beyond

I love all the speculation about this show and I'm throwing my hat in the ring. There's so many wild directions it could go, but here's the one that's been cooking in my brain lately.

Spoilers ahead.

First of all, other people have already speculated about Avery's pregnancy being twins. One fathered by Max and one by Tristan. I think they're spot on. It just makes too much sense with the dymaics they've been setting up for the trouple. Plus all the show's references to greek mythology - Castor and Pollux are twins with different fathers and patrons of sailors (and a quick look at their Wikipedia page leads me to believe the Odyssey is going to experience some St. Elmo's fire before this story line is wrapped up).

I'm going to add that they're going to be boy / girl twins. The girl will be Tristan's as he picked up the pink duck, and the boy Max's as the blue duck stayed with him on his desk.

BUT we'll get to see none of this because Avery won't keep the pregnancy.

As much as I would love a show where they are a happy threesome family raising their kids on a cruise ship, it's just not enough drama. We can't have a happy ending for the main relationships less than 10 episodes in. They've got to keep us coming back with the "will they won't they" because that's how network TV works.

So instead Avery will end the pregnancy, and they'll all say it's for the best while desperately still wanting each other and wishing they hadn't let this wonderful thing they almost had slip through their fingers.

But then how will we ever know if we were right about Avery being pregnant with twins, etc????

Sometime in the future there's going to be some kind of dream sequence or something that shows what could have been. They'll see the twins and their happy life together and it's gonna make them pine so hard. Maybe it's a Christmas episode and they do a "ghosts of Christmas past" thing. Maybe one or all of them have some life threatening illness that gives them fever dreams. Or one of them technically dies for 3 minutes and they see "heaven" while the other two restart their heart. Etc.

This is just completely wild speculation, but my personal choice would be a psychic cruise. A psychic influencer books the Odyssey for an industry convention and its filled with crystal girlies and empaths and everyone is telling everyone about their auras.

Avery obviously doesn't believe in any of it and thinks they're all grifters. Max wants to believe but is pretty sure 99% of them can't do anything they think they can. Tristan is all in. He's buying everything they tell him and pre ordering more. He's buying lottery tickets in every port.

Over the course of the week they're all told different things about the life they could have had together with their kids. But in little cryptic bits. They each get a little piece of the puzzle from a different psychic that together would make this beautiful happy picture if they put it together. But of course they don't. They have to angst and pine over it. And in the cases of Max and Avery doubt what they said was true at all (but idk, those psychics definitely had some specific details they shouldn't have known....).

But however they come to see this wondrous vision of their alternate life, the whole rest of the series is the three of them finding their way back to this perfect thing they had for a glorious minute but couldn't keep because none of them were emotionally ready for it. And hopefully we get 6 seasons of "will they won't they".
