Confused on when narcan should be used

The other night I went to a rave w friends drinking way too much and cheefing the meth too hard then my gf walked up to me w some pink shit in her hand and said to lick it and I did then I felt really fucking good and then there was a shit ton of people and security around me talking about my old track marks and said they gave me narcan for an opiate over dose and and we got kicked out making my gf pissed as fuck and she kept saying I didn't need narcan and I was fine and that you only need narcan if someone's not breathing.
