Why do people hate Jim so much?

So I’ve noticed people on Reddit seem to hate Jim. Often saying he’s a sociopathic bully and nitpicking on everything he does and frankly, I think it’s hypocritical.

I think because Jim is seen as the nice guy people are so much less lenient with him than the others that are more caricature-like. So maybe Jim isn’t the best person in the world but you’ve gotta be insane to think he’s the worst person in the office. If he’s not your favourite character that’s one thing, but he’s just not the worst person morally, and I’m sick of hearing it. The others have all done so so so much worse, but because those are things that realistically, no one would ever do it’s not taken seriously. (Which makes sense it’s comedy, but the same should be applied to Jim.)

Another thing that I’m sick of hearing is that if Jim wasn’t attractive, he would be seen as creepy. I think people miss the point here, everything is circumstantial. If Jim was less attractive, and Pam reacted differently to his advances, he would’ve backed off. That’s the thing about him, he’s got enough awareness to understand when he’s really hurting someone and when he’s just being a bit annoying like with Dwight. People just scrutinize everything he does in ways that don’t make sense, but then the other characters are just funny.

And again I want to make it clear, you do not have to like Jim, not at all. But to say he’s done the worst stuff compared to the others is delusional.
