2025 Rookie Mock Draft (Post CFB Week 1)
With week 1 of college football in the books, I thought it would be fun to run through what a first round 2025 superflex rookie mock draft might look like.
- 1.01 - WR - Tetairoa McMillan - Two receivers stand atop the early rookie rankings and I've chosen the more complete receiver as the first selection. McMillan has a unique blend of size, strength, speed and athleticism that makes him feel like the safest prospect in this class.
- 1.02 - RB - Ashton Jeanty - There aren't enough good things to say about Jeanty, he's a throwback to the true bell cow running backs of old. As a pure runner he is easily the best in the class with a perfect balance of power and elusiveness. Add in the fact that he is a major threat in the receiving game and you have a running back that can be a staple of your dynasty team for years to come.
- 1.03 - WR - Luther Burden III - Many analysts' WR1 in this class, Burden should be a contributor right away at the next level. He has elite athleticism and run after the catch ability to give defenders a headache. His smaller stature is the only thing that knocks him below McMillan and Jeanty.
- 1.04 - QB - Shedeur Sanders - The truth is none of the quarterbacks in this class give me much hope from a dynasty perspective, but I'm going to bet on potential rushing upside from Sanders who seems to have a serviceable arm and playmaking ability.
- 1.05 - RB - TreVeyon Henderson - Henderson is an explosive back that excels in space, but is also not afraid to throw his shoulder into contact. He looked like the better back in week 1 compared to Judkins and should feast at the next level on a team that spreads the ball out and gets it to him in space and his receiving upside is what we're all searching for at the running back position.
- 1.06 - RB - Ollie Gordon II - Gordon was the leading rusher last year for a reason, he has the size, speed and vision to be a great back in the NFL. He has a good quickness for his size and should test well athletically at the combine for teams to make him an early day 2 running back.
- 1.07 - QB - Jaxson Dart - Dart looked like the best QB in college football this weekend and is my sneaky pick to find his way into the first round of superflex rookie drafts next year. His dual threat ability is one I'm willing to take a shot on in fantasy in an otherwise weak QB class.
- 1.08 - WR - Emeka Egbuka - Egbuka didn't benefit from poor QB play and an unhealthy season last year, but he's a talented wide receiver with good quickness, speed and route running ability. He has a chance to be a steal in drafts if his stock slides because of the lack of targets in a crowded room at Ohio State, competing with Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith for targets.
- 1.09 - RB - Omarion Hampton - Hampton has a typical workhorse build with great speed, quickness and vision to excel at the next level. His traits jump off the screen and he appears to have true 3-down back potential in the NFL.
- 1.10 - RB - Quinshon Judkins - Many analysts' RB1 in this class, though I have my reservations about him. Even though he's a bruiser with plus vision, he looked limited when compared to Henderson in week 1. But he has some 3-down back potential at the next level, though it is less than the running backs listed above which is why he lands here for now.
- 1.11 - QB - Carson Beck - The QB1 of many analysts for next year, I'm not sold on him just yet. He does have experience in a pro system and does show some accuracy and ability to read tough defenses in the SEC. He seems limited to a pocket passer at the next level though and I don't see him moving the needle enough to warrant coming off the board sooner.
- 1.12 - WR - Isaiah Bond - Speed is his game, but seems to have good route running ability, toughness and hands to go along with it. Could profile as a great slot wide receiver at the next level with manufactured touches if he lands with the right team.
