2025 Under Armour All-American Game, a Sneak Peak at the 2028 Rookie Class

Good morning, weirdly enough due to some scheduling conflicts the Under Armour All-American game is being played at Spec Martin stadium, in my home town of Deland Florida instead of at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. The game is on ESPN, and in true degenerate form, I will be sharing some thoughts on the prospects at today's game. Many if not most of these guys won’t be fantasy relevant, but remember that over the years we have seen some great talents play in this showcase, the 2019 game for instance featured Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels, George Pickens, Zach Charbonnet, and Jameson Williams. So let’s look at some of the most talented 17-18 year old players in the country.

1. Keelon Russell, QB, Alabama

Russell is the #2 QB prospect in the country and will be playing for the Crimson Tide next season, he has a nice arm and can deliver accurate strikes all over the field. I want to see more of his rushing ability. He is playing against Elijah Griffin, the best defensive prospect in the country, so his ability to scramble is something to monitor, especially since he only rushed for 625 yards in 29 high school starts.

2. Dakorien Moore, WR, Oregon

Moore stands at 5 '11 but his jump ball skills, and speed are awesome. He has really strong hands and is a monster after the catch. Today, I will be watching his release off the line. I want to see him win by being more technical as a route runner instead of just blowing past physically inferior defensive backs. Expect Moore to be a highly productive freshman with Oregon potentially losing their top two receivers to the draft.

3. Julian Lewis, QB, Colorado

Who will be the future QB for the Buffaloes? It is hard for a freshman to start right away, but Lewis is an advanced passer for his age and I believe he will be under center on day one. He is accurate, has solid mechanics, and while he is not a big quarterback at 6’1, he looks like he can add some weight to his frame. He will most likely play behind Russell today, but I want to see how quickly he processes today's game with so many defensive studs on the opposite side.

4. Akylin Dear, RB, Alabama

Another Bama recruit, Dear is the #2 RB in the country, and his 6’1 200lb frame is really impressive for an 18 year old. His junior year he ran for over 2,000 yards, 27 touchdowns, while also running track. Dear looks like the full package with his speed, elusiveness and strength. Hopefully he is featured today, I want to see how he runs inside the tackles against today’s competition.

5. Dallas Wilson, WR, Florida

DJ Lagway (a future contender for the 2027 1.01), will have two new weapons in this game. The first is the #4 wide receiver Wilson who at 6 '3 looks like a true possession receiver with his size and strength at the catch point. He routinely snatches balls out of the air and uses his hands, which is something some high school recruits struggle with. Wilson is not as fast as Moore, but he has a rare blend of tools and breaks a bunch of tackles after the catch.

6. Vernell Brown III, WR, Florida

Brown's family has a history with the Gators, his father, grandfather and uncle all played for the program, additionally his cousin (a defensive back) will also be playing for the Gators next season. The #6 receiver in the country, Brown is an explosive athlete, he is dangerous with the ball and profiles as a nice weapon in the slot moving forward. He is undersized at 5’11 170, but his athletic profile and separation skills make up for that.

Coincidentally, all six of these players will be on the same team in today's game (the rosters are interesting to say the least). Most of you will presumably be watching Georgia vs Notre Dame at 4pm, but I have you covered, and will be commenting on this thread throughout the game.

EDIT: Dakorien Moore is a stud
