Starting a roth ira.

I'm about invest into a roth ira for the first time. I was considering putting 5k into vti, 1k into qqqm, and 1k into schd. I'm looking for maximum long term growth without too much risk. Is this a good starting point? Any pointers are appreciated. I'm 31.
