I just got Skyrim: Special edition, are there any recommended mods that work with it?

I got the game when it went on sale and I'm wanting to improve my experience with mods. I'm looking for mods that are both convenient and immersive. I've tried to mod the original version but many mods use either Special Edition or the Anniversary Edition. Are there recommended mods that work for the Special Edition of the game.
