No signal on PS3 when using Elgato HD60

So I've set up my Elgato the exact same as in the most viewed videos on YouTube (not sure if I'm able to post links without the post being closed down!)

I'm using a HDMI stripper splitter with it and a few of my friends who have the same splitter say it works fine, the main issue is I am getting video and audio on my Game Capture of the PS3, but when I switch the display on my monitor to HDMI to get the PS3 display, I just get a black screen. Strange thing is I can hear the audio still? just no display it seems!

Most of the issues I've searched for on here are for the opposite thing happening and not getting signal on the elgato software!

Any help/advice would be appreciated!
