[Discussion] What PC specs do you have and are you ok with the game's performance right now?
I've been playing from 2019. When I say I've tried everything, I honestly did...
So a bit of a backstory, when I first started playing the game I had an i7-8700k, which was a very solid CPU for its time, It ran every other game perfectly. Running PUBG with 200+ FPS in late 2017 was insane, people who played it back then know that it was no different from Tarkov in terms of perfromance issues. When I first started playing EFT I was in my nvidia control panel more than I was in game...
I upgraded to an i9-10850k when it released, mostly to play Tarkov like a human being... I made the mistake of going back to 16GB of ram which was the normal amount of ram you needed for pretty much any other game. Game run fine for a few wipes(never above 100 FPS) then I had to upgrade my RAM to 32GB, which I did in 2022. Game ran fine for a whole wipe, then back to 60-70 fps. At that point I decided I'd only play in Christmas wipes with my friends who didn't play every wipe.
This year all my friends quit the game or play 2 hours a day.. I finally switched to AMD because Intel is no longer a good option(for me). I get in the game and finally see 150+ fps, however the game plays like i'm on a 30HZ monitor.
I'm so tired of digging for better settings, I've spend more than 4k euros for upgrades over the years(complete builds and parts) and I can now say I have the best CPU available for games(9800x3d) and a decent GPU to pair it (4070 Ti). The game still won't run as it should, any other game I have on my PC right now didn't require any special attention, for once I just hopped in game and had a smooth experience, except EFT...
Every other aspect of the game is great right now and I loved the early wipe changes, no flea, FIR hideout items(for the most part), etc. But I don't think I will be coming back, If they release it next year like some rumors said, I'll just play for the laughs.
At this point, they are just speedrunning the release by removing promised maps and features, adding expansions in current maps, adding transit, making the game more and more like Nikita's vision for "Russia 2028". Maybe hold back a little.. Make no major changes and focus on performance for a wipe or two, I mean it won't hurt you, the game has advanced enough in the past two years..
