client lifting

i do brow waxes, i had this lady, super sweet come in and wants a brow tint & wax. i go through the release form, ask if she’s used any retinols, laser peels, etc. she says no, and we get started. the tint went great, i start the wax on the left eyebrow where there’s slight redness but nothing too extreme. as i move onto the right eyebrow i noticed what i thought was small pin point bleeding until i see small amount of lifted skin. immediately i stop the service and ask if she has ever used retinols, (again) where she said she used one a night ago. i explained how the skin lifted, and also made her aware how i did ask before if she used retinols, and it was on the release form that she signed. she told me she did not read it… i feel so unsettled, my coworker said it happens. i’m going to be going more in depth, as much as i can about the release forms… any tips or similar experiences?
