Did they reach out after you unfollowed them, or was it over forever?

I am considering to unfollow my ex becouse they dont even speak to me anymore, they dont watch my stories and im feeling like there is really no point in having them on my instagram.

I do still love them and i do still hope there will be a chance to reconnect somewhere in future.

I did the begging, I did the messaging, I did all the pathetic stuff.

I am feeling like if i dont unfollow them, they will forever look on me as weak and they wont make any contact. Another thing is, I feel like when enough time will pass they will just unfollow me, and when that will happen it will hurt me. But i dont want to send a message that im done with them forever.

I really dont know what to do to make me feel any better. Its been 6 months since we were on vacation together and we havent seen eachother since then. last 5 months we barely speak its just me saying hello and trying to meet and them rejecting me, basically that is all comunication. except when I wished them happy new year and them responding "same." .

So my question is:

When you unfollowed ur ex, did they tried to reach out after time (if they did how long has taken for them to do so?) did they unfollowed u back, what happened?
