Receiving offers of "artists" on my PM box

These past few weeks I received two messages on my PM on Fanfiction.Net of self-proclaimed digital artists, praising my stories and scenarios and telling how they would like to do some collaborations and commissions of my works. Now, the question here is about the authenticity behind those messages and profiles. I don't usually receive offers like these, at all. So getting two in a relative short space of time does make me react with some caution and reluctancy.

I'm skeptic that the artists doing those offers might just be bots or scammers passing off as digital artists or even spammers going around to promote themselves and their work. So I would like to know if anybody else has been getting these sort of messages on the site and I should just ignore it all together or I'm just being way too suspicious of a simple message of legitimate artists.
