Suggestion for a fantasy loving relationship book, NOT romance!

I’m a big fan of fantasy, but never one of romance, or at least not anything that is just ‘romance’. I’ll read it if it’s fantasy, paranormal slice-of-life, paranormal mystery, etc, with romance as a companion or subplot, but it can’t be the only focus, though I find any romance often ends up being too much (especially when written only from the female perspective). I’ve recently learned that a lot of that is because ‘romance’ is a misnomer for what I’m looking for. No fated mates. No story that’s all about two characters falling in love and starting a relationship in a single book, then the next book in the series discards the characters for another set like that somehow equals a happily ever after or is the end of the line for them. I’m looking for a book series that shows the building of the relationship, And what comes after. Married life, the life and relationship struggles that come with it, you know, something more realistic in that sense to real life. Some magical or paranormal or paranormal mystery element would be heavily preferred, but it can be a minor aspect of the story, as well as a male perspective or male and female. I know something this specific is a really tall order, especially since the only example I’ve been able to find is the Isaac Taylor mysteries. If anyone else could give me a suggestion I’d be so grateful! I’m tired of trashy fantasy lust equals love, all about the chase romance!
