How to interpret Attributes to determine position...

FULL CONTEXT: I've never played soccer, never watched a full game and I don't know anything about strategy/tactics...

First, what exactly is the role of a "Right/Left" Midfielder? I'm assuming a "Winger" either gives assists to a Striker or gets behind the defense to try and score themselves.

What is a Right/Left Midfielder supposed to do?

Just looking at Attributes, how would you tell if a Right/Left Midfielder would be better as a "Winger" or would be better as a "Central" Midfielder?

I'm asking about Midfielders but if anyone wants to give tips on distinguishing other positions like Fullback/Center Back, Striker/CF/CAM or any other positions it would be appreciated.
