Clock puzzles from FFXIII-2 might legitimately be one of the hardest puzzles in the history of gaming

I still think about them sometimes to this day. They utilitize the mathematical theory of Hamiltonian Paths to solve them and are randomly generated each time so you can't just brute force it. And you have to do them 3-4 at the same time(with a save between stages), but if you quit during the process you'll start all over again so you need endurance. Oh and there's also a timer on some of the later ones. My head was exploding and I paused the game constantly to write everything down. There are entire side content locations locked behind them. Luckily for those who're willing to "cheat" there are sites that solve them if you write down the numbers in them

The rules summarized by one banned ResetEra user are as follows: "Every time you chose a number on the clock, the hands would join where the number is, and then move away from it by the amount of spaces of the number you chose. So, if you chose that 2 on the 6 o' clock position there, the hands would move to the empty spot on the left and the two on the right. Anyways, choosing a number also makes it disappear. If you select a number and the hands end up moving to two empty spaces, you lose. You have to get rid of all the numbers without that happening." Courtesy: pleaseinsertdisctwo
