As someone that's never touched a Final Fantasy game before, is the FFVII remake worth the current sale price on Steam?

I've been thinking about getting it considering it's only $40 currently, but I've heard that this is part 1 of like 4 or something and each part is going to be a couple years apart. Is it still worth it considering the sale price?
