Need help friend dropped my reel into saltwater.

As the title says I asked my friend to hold my rod and reel while I unhook a fish and for some reason he decided to just drop it into saltwater. It was in there maybe 5-10 seconds before I realized and I picked it up. Almost right after it started squeaking. Ik corrosion can make the bearing squeak over time but the squeaking started basically instantly after being dunked and taken out. I’m currently having it soak in warm water but it’s still squeaking. Planning on re greasing after. Anything else I need to do? The reel model is the offshore angler frigate (around $95 reel).
