Employers in our industry are unbelievable…

This latest escapade involved accepting a job in July that provided benefits after 90 days probation as per my negotiations and contract. Completed my probation with flying colors, only to find out this company cancelled their entire US health coverage plan back in 2023, over a year before I started, and they had just straight up lied that it would be available.

I had 5 offers on the table when I accepted this job earlier in the year. I never would have accepted this offer if I’d known they weren’t going to be supplying health insurance. I am so upset I was lied to :(

Beyond that, I refuse to work for brokers who don’t utilize integrity when dealing with carriers. This already knocks out 50% of employers.

I have been a top performer in every role I’ve had in the past 5 years, but I’m beginning to feel hopeless that I’ll ever find an employer who is capable of basic respect and integrity.

I am looking for advice on good employers to apply to, or how to better vet employers as I work through a new round of job hunting.
