How to get my carpet not so stained?

I used carpet cleaner and it like bleached some spots. Unfortunately I’m in a rental. I want laminate or vinyl but landlord said no. I have dog and a cat. I have been practicing no shoes in the house recently. It’s wmbarassing I guess when ppl come over I’m insecure about the marks.
