Heat damaged fur? What should I do?

(repost because I accidentally posted this to r/furry when it should be here. My mistake!)

Afternoon! I'm making my first suit and was working cutting the fur last night when I noticed these weird lines in the fur fibers. They're very wavy, and I can't brush them out; I don't want to rule out heat damage, since I ordered this back in July and we had a particularly warm summer, but I also don't know what to do about it. Because the fur is BRIGHT PINK, it's very noticeable and ruins the look. Is there anything I can do to restore it myself? Should I contact the manufacturer for a replacement?
