Day 5 of taking 40 mg omeprazole, still experience gerd symptoms.

I was wondering how long it would take for omeprazole to start doing its thing? I used to have terrible chest and body aches from gerd, have ruled out heart issues etc. it used to give me major panic attacks and Impact my breathing. After a few ER visits and therapy I’ve continued to try to accept my chest pain is gerd. Last few days I feel omeprazole has helped ease those chest pains but still feel aches pains, and other symptoms. Has anyone found success with omeprazole ?
