Why are people so scared of ppis?

I’m just curious, I see people on here so hesitant about ppis and I just don’t get it.. isn’t is suppose to help us? Controlling gerd so it doesn’t escalate to something worse is imporant so what is all the fuss about? I’ve been on ppis for a few years and I’m just fine. Is there side effects I don’t know about? Don’t all medications have some sort of cons but the pros overweigh them? 🤔
