Haven't hit GGCooler or GGCheers in literally over a month. I've taken big coolers and big wins, a lot of them. What's going on?
I have to preface this with that I am not accusing anyone or anything. I'm a break-even player who plays for fun, these days mostly while taking care of my kid. I work from home and the money I play with doesn't affect my financial situation in a meaningful way, win or lose. Having said that; I'm quitting real money poker if I start losing money.
Now, to get to why I'm making this post. I came to GG because of the modern UI, functioning android app and a large playerbase. While I didn't appreciate the fact that I had to ditch my own HUD, I've grown to like the fact that I can play from anywhere at anytime. I was irked by the rake, but understood what it's for the second I hit my first GGCheers and almost mincashed. I hit my 2nd GGCheers 2 days later and mincashed that time. Considering I was playing mostly 25c spins & $1 AoF (... it's profitable w/ table selection), making 28 bucks as additional "rakeback" felt pretty great.
Since then? I've almost stopped playing at other places, and slowly upped the stakes I play at GG.
It's been over 3 months since my one and only mincash, and literally over a month since I even got a chance. Pic for proof:
Have a look of my highlights from the last two days alone. I studied my hand history and picked these out as examples where someone got coolered or won a big pot, but no cheers or care were given. I've filtered out the ones I screwed up by slowplaying and let someone else have the nuts before betting into them, but I'll let you have this one first, as a treat: Feel free to laugh at me. I'm certainly laughing at myself.
Do I literally have to turn the ultra meganuts in order to get some cheers?
TIHI, I hated that flop. But how could I not call after the turn checked back?
Maybe this pot is not big enough?
80BB pot. Certainly a cheersworthy pot for me, a wake up call for that dude?
I've seen people awarded as little as 400 chips for the flipout. Why not me, even once, in the last month?
I'll end my "rant" with this. I don't know how I could have played this any differently, but it would have been nice to get... some value out of a 0.00139% hand. For all the rake I pay you.
Not to make "threats" (as if anybody would miss a microstakes grinder like me) but... there are other poker apps on my phone that take less rake... but they also have players that don't call a 5bet all in with A4s so I kinda wanna stay here but I also kinda want what was advertised.
