Bluetooth quality better than carplay?

Ever since I got this car I’ve been trying to get a nice crisp and quality sound on the speakers and I never quite got it where I wanted it. I always used carplay for music and when I got in and it automatically connected to bluetooth just now, the sound seems waaay better. I know for most people it’s the other way around and I don’t want to lose carplay over sound quality but I might if that’s what it takes.
