HKS Hi Power Spec L2 Review

I absolutely love this exhaust so far.

First of all, it’s pretty quiet. I was honestly expecting it to be a bit louder than it is but I’m happy with how civilized it is while having a deep bass tone. If you want something that pops and crackles and sounds loud in the higher rpms, this exhaust isn’t for you.

I think the cold start sounds the best. It is definitely louder than stock but not obnoxiously loud unlike 90% of the aftermarket exhausts for this car. I actually look forward to cold starts instead of dreading that I will embarrass myself and piss off my neighbors.

The install was very straight forward and easy. This is the first exhaust I’ve ever installed, and with a little help of one of my mechanically inclined friends, we were able to do it in about 30 minutes.

I also love the look of the exhaust. Fitment is about a 8/10 right now. The right tip is pushed in about half an inch closer than the left one, although I plan on fixing this once the exhaust goes through a few more heat cycles and gets more settled. The carbon fiber tips look really good, but they are an additional part you have to buy. The burnt titanium tips it comes with don’t really match my car and I’m not a fan of the burnt tip look. (FYI, the tip covers are sold separately, so you have to buy 2 of them)

This thing is pricey no doubt. I got it on throtl.com and it was listed for $1564, and the tips were $153 for 2 of them. They called me about a day after I abandoned my cart and offered a $100 discount and free shipping, so after taxes it was $1750 total. It’s a lot of money for something that doesn’t add a lot of volume, but for the looks and the tone, it’s well worth it.
