GTA TBoGT is the most badass and most underrated

Recently, I replayed GTA TBoGT on PC because I found a great deal on Steam that included the complete edition of GTA IV + EFLC.

I first played these games back in 2008/2009, and over the years, I had occasionally started a new playthrough, but I had never really gotten back into them the way I did back then.

All of these games are epic, but GTA TBoGT has an underrated appeal, in my opinion. I always preferred it over TLaD, which I find to be more stripped-down and less fleshed-out, even though Johnny Klebitz is a solid character. That said, I still think Luis Lopez is an underrated protagonist with a lot more potential.

The nightclub aesthetic and Liberty City’s nightlife give the game a unique vibe. The story is one of the most badass in the series—even though it’s only 26 missions long and just a DLC, I think it’s a more compact and well-crafted GTA.

The final mission, ‘Departure Time,’ is one of the most epic in all of GTA. When Luis Lopez grabs onto the plane and takes out Bulgarin, it’s an unforgettable moment. Then, when he jumps out of the exploding plane and parachutes down while ‘No Security’ by Crookers plays, with Liberty City spread out beneath him, it’s a perfect send-off for both TBoGT and the overall GTA IV storyline. Compared to the tragic endings of GTA IV and TLaD, this one is truly legendary.

I’d love to see a remaster or a remake because this game deserves it.
