My 6 classic isn't accurately counting my steps (I think I know why)

Got my 6 classic for black friday. I walk alot at work and was excited to see just how many steps I take in a 8 hour shift. Was disappointed to see it wasn't counting my steps accurately. I think it's happening because im often holding something while walking at work, which I can't stop doing.

Tho, 11k in 2 hours would put me about 45k over an 8 hour shift, which is about what I expected tho I want to be sure. I think I'll try putting it in my pocket for a couple shifts just to get a more accurate measure.
