constant regurgitation/vomiting in mouth
So I have mild to moderate gastroparesis, cyclic vomiting syndrome, GERD, and pots among other things. I was recently put on amitriptyline to help with the vomiting/nausea and I seemed to be doing a bit better for a month or so. But lately I’ve been having a horrible symptom, which I’ve had now and again before but never this severe.
I have very bad acid reflux and can’t sleep flat because of it. I raised the head of my bed and it seemed to be manageable for a while. For the past few weeks though, I’ve been having severe regurgitation almost constantly. I’m burping and throwing up in my mouth every few minutes and it’s pretty unbearable. My stomach also feels really weird when this happens, the best word I can think to describe it is a “liquidy”, sloshy feeling. It almost makes me want to force vomiting, but I know once I start it’ll be hard to stop and I’m terrified of ending up hospitalized again (very bad past experience).
It’s odd though because it’s not acidy, doesn’t burn at all. It feels more like vomit than acid reflux.
I’m on omeprazole for reflux and several anti nausea meds.
Has anyone else experienced this symptom? Anything that could help? I’m pretty desperate. I’m hoping it’s just a bad flare up and will ease up soon.
Edit to add another note: I have had two endoscopies over the past few years and we know my LES doesn’t work properly and I have gastritis in my stomach but it’s been mostly manageable with meds up until recently (aside from flare ups).
