Why is suicide never anyone else's fault until a trans person does it?
It really should be one or the other. We should address how suicide is many times a societal issue for the greater population. Very few people are born with the innate urge to kill themselves, they're forced that way by others actions onto them for extended durations of time. Just cause Billy was comfortable with his assigned gender identity doesn't mean he never had an external reason to commit suicide.
EDIT: To clarify: People make this blanket statement that a person can be hurt by your actions, but at the end of the day, it was their choice to commit the final act that ended their own life. If this was true, it would also apply to trans people. Now we have to admit that suicide truly has external causes or it doesn't. Which is it?
