A Service To Read Old Handwritten Documents (a 1788 Will)?
Hello - New to the sub, thanks for having me. My father (76) has traced our family back to the 1700s to Harrisburg, Penn. That generation was born in either Ireland or Scotland and our trail runs cold. My father is bringing me (43) the Will from that person's 1788 death. I haven't seen it, but he says is an oversized sheet of paper that he got from a microfilm copy that is crisp and clear - however, the cursive/calligraphy/penmanship to him is nearly impossible to read. We're hoping the text could unlock some mysteries. Dad is in Mid Michigan and I am in West Michigan. Is there a trusted service out there that helps 'translate' these types of documents? Thanks in advance.
