Apostille for birth certificate?
Hello all, I just received my first appointment for naturalization. I'm certain I meet the requirements under the new law.
I'd like to prepare some of the documents beforehand. I haven't received any requirements for documents to be submitted yet.
Does anyone have experience with:
1.Whether or not an Apostille is needed for a birth certificate from China? I'm a Canadian citizen and grew up in Canada, but was born in China.
Or is a certified, translated copy fine?
I have no current ties to China and it would be near impossible to stay there until an Apostille is complete.
What translations do I have to provide? Must these be presented with an Apostille too? This would mean I would need a German speaking notary in China to help with the process.
Whether or not Chinese embassies in Germany can provide a legalised version of my birth certificate that will be accepted by authorities
Canadian embassies abroad seem to provide the Apostille. Does this count for name change certificates? Would I have to then present a Chinese version of my Canadian name change certificate if I have to go to China for the Apostille
Thanks.
