Leaving and Returning Back

Hi all! I have a quick question about leaving Germany and returning back someday. I have moved to Germany in March 2018 as a student, and been working full-time since March 2021. I have not applied for citizenship yet. I am wondering if I leave the country now and come back at a later point of time, will my duration be counted for a citizenship. I'm from India, if that matters.
