My clutch is slipping at 4000km and vw said it’s not covered under the warranty
Picked up a 2024 gti a few months ago on a lease. At around 4000km I accelerated pretty hard to make a sketchy left turn and noticed that my clutch began slipping. Went to vw and they told me that issues with the clutch usually aren't covered by the warranty due to "wear and tear".
I've done a handful of pulls but 99% of the time I drive under 2000rpm. I already had about 6000km of experience of driving stick before this car when I had a old beemer as a daily. Taught a friend how to drive in a parking lot once and although he did stall it about 5 times but I find it very hard to believe that less than 10 minutes in a parking lot could do that much damage.
Is this a manufacturing or installation error or are the clutches low just low quality and prone to wear down quickly. Also how should I go around fixing it. They're asking 5000 to replace the clutch lol
Edit) a bit for info because the auto mod asked. 2024 mk8 autobahn. Local to Canada, not sure where it was manufactured, but since it's Canadian probably somewhere in NA. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated
Edit 2) it looks like it's wheel hop. I have a video underneath but it does look like it. Unfortunately no audio was recorded for some reason but it sounds exactly like wheel hop. I didn't experience any clutch slipping in higher gears. I have the standard tires the car came with and the road was pretty good (a lot of college students use it for drag racing). The car is also completely stock. Anything I could do to avoid this besides or should I just never accelerate like that in the future. Again, thank you everyone, you really saved me a big headache dealing with VW customer service.
