Notification bar disappears (sometimes) overnight

I have placed my Pixel 3 XL on the Pixel Stand almost every night for a long time with no issues. Recently I'm noticing that sometimes the notification bar is gone (no time or notifications showing) when I look at it the next morning. When I pull down from the top of the screen to show notifications, nothing happens. I have to reboot to fix it. I'm running Android 10 with the April 5 security patch. Anyone have any ideas what's happening? It just started doing this in the last couple weeks.
