HENRY offer pulled due to notice period?

Hi All, just reaching out for some advice on what may happen with a HENRY offer i've recieved.

Over the past 3 months I've interviewed and negotiated a "soft offer" at a competitor, however I feel this offer may get pulled due to my 90 day notice period. I will summarise below:

 

Context

Applied for a new role at a competitor company (US based).

The role is exactly the same as my current role which i've been in for a few years (same job role and seniority).

 

Timeline

Oct 30: Spoke with Hiring Manager and HR rep, communicated 90 day notice period.

Nov 7: Interviewed for role, went really well, felt I was a perfect fit for the role.

Nov 8: HR rep emailed and confirmed they are looking to make an offer.

Dec 4: First offer recieved, negotations started, communicated 90 day notice period again.

Dec 16: Second offer recieved, accepted "soft offer" over email with HR rep acknowledging this, I requested formal offer letter, HR rep said they are working on formal offer letter now.

 

Dec 18: Had a call with the HR rep and they said they are looking to have me in role in circa 6 weeks and if my notice period could be shortened. Communicated I'm contractually ablidged to do 90 days, it could be slightly shorter but those conversations can only take place when I have a formal offer letter.

I asked if there was a chance if the offer could get pulled and she said maybe, but she would hope not as they have spent quite a while working on the offer. However they have been quite touchy about notice period.

 

Personally I feel a really strong candidate, it's essentially the same as my current role. There are also other synergies such as me already selecting and deploying tooling which my new "prospectus" org have just bought.

Also based on how long I have been working with them on this offer, I'm sure it's not quicker for them to go back out to market, even if you do find a USA colleague candidate with a 2 week notice period.

Questions

  1. What is the likelihood of the offer being pulled due to my notice period?
  2. Is there anyway to shorten or skip my notice period?  

I know my manager wont enable me to go quicker than 90 days even if we had the conversation.

  1. How can I work to ensure this offer doesn't fall through?
