Asking support about pity energy year 4

Has anyone ever asked support why pity energy doesn't work for story classes in year 4 (and partly year 5)? Because I genuinely have no idea why they'd get rid of it just to enable it again in year 5. And do you think that it could be useful to ask them about it, or is the support in general not that helpful?
