Main Storyline Importance

I'd like to discuss the main quest line's importantance. Whether or not it is needed in order to play the game and have fun.

Specifically the part of the main quest line once you've got your room of requirement and beast room add ons and all that good stuff.

Once the Rockwood trials begin...

How important are they really?

I've never finished them. I've only attempted the first and I'm stuck and frustrated. I've spent too much time stuck and frustrated and searching in my browser just to play the main storyline up to this point.

I'm not a "puzzle person". I didn't know this was going to be a "puzzle game".

There's a lot about this game I love. Most of it in fact. I don't even mind the Merlin trials that much. Or the locked door puzzles. Those are doable.

But gee willickers the storyline puzzles are torture. They're not fun at all. My brain doesn't compute that way. I get confused, flustered and frustrated.

And that is why I am asking if I can just play all four dorms up to the Rockwood trials and then skip the rest of the storyline. Just play all the side missions and stuff.

I mean I have looked up IGN guides, watched YouTube videos and I have still been stuck. I'm that dumb with these Rockwood puzzles.

Turn a door here, push and pull a cube there. Well, it doesn't work for me the way it works for the person in the video.

Please say I won't be missing much from this point forward. I've enjoyed the relationship quests and side quests and stuff. I've also enjoyed just adventuring in the open world and finding things.

Please don't suggest a mod to skip such and such or whatever. I play on PS5.
