Has anyone had surgery for septate Hyman and have some general advice/warnings?

Title says most of it. I haven't been able to penetrate more than a finger's width (and even that can painful and can cause bleeding) ever, and thought I had vaginismus after trauma but after getting a flashlight and a mirror, saw an extra bit of tissue across the entrance and looked up to find it's extremely likely that it's just a septate hymen (a hymen with a string of tissue separating the entrance) and all it needs is a relatively small surgery.

I'm wondering if anyone has had this surgery and has advice for things like how bad is the pain after (I've never had surgery), do you get put to sleep or local anaesthesia, is there any treatment other than sits baths, how long until physical work (I stock shelves so lots of crouching and bending and heavy lifting and pulling heavy trolleys) without discomfort, how many staff are present (I need to request a female surgeon and mostly female nurses because of trauma), any advice on healing stuff?

A specific question I have is my colleague recommended external, watered down lavender oil for vagina healing, would that help this too?
