Can an ovarian cyst cause cyclical premenstrual bleeding?

For four menstrual cycles now, I've been bleeding brown blood 5 days leading up to my period.

My hormones are normal, but a transvaginal ultrasound found a vascular ovarian cyst on one of my ovaries.

Could this cause bleeding like this? Cyclical in nature...every month, brown blood for 4-5 days leading up to my period.
