MORE watery discharge after Metrogel (for Gardnerella/BV)

I have cervical inflammation and milky yellow discharge. My doctor tested by cervical swab and it came back positive for Gardnerella, which she said is BV (though I had no odor). I did 5 nights of vaginal Metrogel, but I'm still experiencing watery discharge a week after my last application...possibly even MORE than before...I'm so tired of this. Any thoughts would be appreciated

(I've done full testing for ureaplasma/mycoplasma as well as every other test possible including a Microgendx test. It's always been negative--for 10 years of symptoms--but recently my doctor swabbed my cervix and it was positive for gardnerella...)
