Is it allowed to have fun in this game?

Genuine question I can’t understand this game, it looks nice and the gameplay is cool but damn wtf is so complicated about it? I tried everything, play the game like it’s meant to be played, and yet I still find myself living the same exact scenario every game, spawn, run from cover to cover for miles, die without knowing why, start again. Any help is welcome
