New Mom EDC

After the latest post with the Mom EDC, I thought I’d share my Everyday bag as a new mom. I like to travel light so have tried to minimise what I carry for me and baby to the essentials only.

EVERYDAY ONE BAG from left to right

-Kyra and Kenja Leah crossbody -Phone -Reusable shopping bag -Bits and bobs EDC -Debit cards+drivers license+small mirror -Baby EDC -Emergency baby bottle with pre boiled water and emergency formula (Note to other moms- Philips avent has the smallest baby bottle I have found, and they fit the pigeon teats) -Current in use baby bottle Missing from the photo: keys and sunnies

BABY EDC From (left to right):

-Carry pouch: works a bit like a compression cube although it’s not currently stuffed to the max (17cm x 12cm x 5cm) -3x Diapers: Baby is 6month old, so diapers are small at this stage. In theory, as baby grows, and the diapers become bigger I assume I’ll also need less of them, so plan to carry only 1 or 2 and have it still fit in the same pouch -Disposable changing pad: Although this is wasteful we got a pack when baby was a newborn and loved to pee and poo just as we were changing them. We don’t need to use them at home anymore and I cut the large pads in 4 to waste less. 1/4 is all I need for under baby’s butt and we use one of the diapers as a head pillow if changing on a hard surface. -Wipes: I save the end of the big wipes packs so I have less to carry -Emergency bib -Emergency Formula (gets changed out every 4weeks) -Toy: choose this one because it’s flat and baby loves a good crunchy toy and ring -Emergency pacifier and leash.

BITS AND BOBS EDC (left to right):

-Small silicone case that houses everything (7cm DIA) -Medication: Paracetamol, ibuprofen, Triptan (for migraines), anti nausea (thanks to pregnancy and pumping), anti-histamine. -Small pot of solid deodorant- decanted from a run of the mill stick deodorant. -Emergency bits and bobs- black and white sewing thread, needle, sewing pin, safety pin, bobby pin, hair tie. -2 bandaids -Collapsible spork - Way too many times I have forgotten cutlery when going to sit in the park to have lunch so I carry my own now. -Tampon -Small tweezers.

Notes for the future - Baby has just started solids. Hoping I can still fit a water bottle and snacks in the same crossbody. Anyone know of a small compact baby water bottle? For snacks planning on using small stainless snack pots.

Hope this is interesting to share and not overloading the sub with mom content.
