Alternatives to deodorant

Hello! Has anyone found anything that works to reduce underarm smells aside from deodorant? I don’t love applying deodorant when I have an armpit boil as I think it irritates it more. I’ve used Native when I have to and it’s the least irritating but would love to get rid of the smell in general then I wouldn’t have to use deodorant. My derm has also said secret deodorant is good for HS if needed.
